Essentia Bulgaria is a Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) essential oil farm located in Valchi Dol, Bulgaria. They are owned by Aleksandra and Nikolay, partners in the business and in real life. They are young farmers who have huge passions for sustainability - they follow the traditional and conservative season of lavender field harvesting, and do so very meticulously!

Aleksandra said this of her farm:

"Sometimes I get a little nervous about only offering one type of essential oil. There are so many other farms here that have three or four or more different plants. But we want to be different! We know Lavender better than anyone else and we want to stick to our expertise. I'd rather smell like lavender for the rest of my life than become obsessed over profits!"

One of the things we love most about Essentia Bulgaria is they are dedicated to truly organic farming - they do not use any sorts of pesticides, and they pick weeds by hand across their hundreds of acres of farmland!
